Mastering... How Do I Know If My CD Needs It?
Since we launched our Google ad for Free Mastering we have been overwhelmed by the response. Of the tracks selected we have made many new customers from around the world. However there are those who will abuse and exploit this service with no intention of paying for our work. As such, we ask that you fill out all fields correctly and provide the following details in the comments box below. Any missing information and your track will not be mastered.

If the volume level of your CD sounds lower than most other CD's.
If your CD lacks punch or clarity.
If your CD is missing depth and detail
If there is noise to be taken out at the start or end of a song.
If you need to "EQ" a track to add or remove "Bass" and "Treble"
If you need to alter the track order.
If you need to add or remove track indexing.

Look in your email for a link to our FTP site.
Upload your file as a 16bit 44.1khz .wav file.
Within 2 to 3 days you will receive a link to download your poof copy.
STOP! Before uploading your track be sure you are sending a "premaster" version and not one that has already been compressed or peak-limited.
Open the file in a wave editor like Wave Lab, Qubase or Pro-Tools, etc. and look at the wave form. If it looks like example 1 it is too low and should be remixed with more master output level. If it looks like example 2 you have a proper premaster. If it looks like example 3 then what you have is already mastered or you are mixing with too much level and it is clipping and causing damage to the mix. You must either find the premaster version or remix your track with no compressor or peak-limiter on the output. Look at the master meter, make sure the output level is not more than -9db - -6db..Peaks can reach to -2db or even slightly more but at -0.2db to 0db (redline) you will have clipping and is to be avoided. Altering the level in the file will not fix it, you must go back to the source to remix.
